002: A Comeback

It has been almost 4 months since my one and only post :) My daughter, Raihan will be 9 months in 2 days time... and I haven't completed any dress for her. Well... I managed to sew her 2 dresses, but unfortunately, I was unable to finish them as the way they should be. Well... the reason: it was my sewing machine fault!!! Huhuhu...

The 1st dress:

The fabric was bought in Makkah in May 2011. I was there performing my umrah together with my husband, my 2 sisters in law, my one and only brother in law + his wife... I then cut the fabric and keep it for safe [sigh], and only start working on it in July. The outcome: the dress is terribly short!! I have to add another piece of fabric on the bottom of the dress, and the dress turns out so princess-like... and I like it sooooo much... The problem is, I have to finish the back of the dress, which I have to wait until my sewing machine is back to normal. I will post the dress in full view, i.e front view and back view once it is completed. Let's pray that by the time it is completed, the dress is still wearable by this cheeky Raihan.

The 2nd dress:

Actually this is just my trial dress... using a very cheap cotton fabric... RM2.40/metre. I made my own pattern (HA HA HA)  and the outcome: the neck hole is small (I have to shrink my baby's head in order to make her wear this dress... no... just kidding), the arms hole are just like the neck hole...

So... how did my baby manage to smile in this beautiful blue dress? This dress should have two buttons each on the shoulders... See... there is nothing, not even one button on her shoulder... That's the secret... I pinned the shoulders of the dress after I put the dress on her. What a brilliant mother... HAHAHA... I know I know...

I have 6 other pattern that I want to sew, and already sketched them in my drawing block.

001: A Good Start

I went to Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2011 at PWTC last Friday and then again on Saturday afternoon :)  No, I have nothing to buy... and end up i bought 4 books on Malaysian 2008 and 2004 general elections, and Kuala Terengganu 2009 by-election, and a set of 8 educational books published by Institut Terjemahan Nasional Malaysia (ITNM)  for my 4months old baby Raihan (and she has yearssss to go before she can read all those books) ~sigh~ AND...

This is a good start to be a sewing mommy, rite?
